I was saved in March 1966 at Dogwood Valley Baptist Church. Soon thereafter our pastor, Bro. Roy Gentry, began using me as song leader and choir director even though I was not very knowledgable about music. God blessed and we had powerful services. I was called to preach September 17, 1967. I trained under my pastor and was able to preach in many local churches. I was ordained October 31, 1971, at Dogwood Valley Baptist Church, Rocky Face, Georgia. The Lord allowed me to interim for two different churches before He called me to Idaho where I was pastor of my first church in 1971.
I have been pastor in Idaho, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, and now Maryland for a total of 33 years. I am a fundamental, old fashioned, independent Baptist. I believe in living right and preaching straight with love and compassion. I recieved a Doctor of Ministry in May 14, 1992.
We are thankful for the six children that God has allowed us to have and to see them serve the Lord is our greatest blessing. Our sons are the best preachers we know, and we are very thankful for our fourteen grandchildren (two more on the way).
